Elle chante, peint, sculpte, joue de la musique…

Pour elle, 1990 marque la naissance de sa vie artistique professionnelle, avec le début d’une série d’expositions de peinture, au Québec, en Ontario et dans les provinces Maritimes.
​Mais il y a plus, tellement plus! Pour saisir le personnage, il faut faire un certain retour en arrière : une incursion dans la vie d’une petite fille, d’une adolescente, d’une jeune adulte et d’une femme accomplie.

Diane-Hélène a faite l'expérimentation de médias et de matériaux diversifiés, qu’elle a appris, pour la plupart, à maîtriser seule : pastel sec, pastel gras, pointe sèche, acrylique, encre, moulage de plexiglas, découpage et le filage de papiers.

Pour l’artiste, le message transmis par ses œuvres est d’une impor­tance capitale. L’objet doit parler, échanger, il doit être unique, exclusif. Elle ne veut rien usiner, elle cherche l’exception, l’indi­vidualité, la singularité, la spécificité. L’artiste cherche plutôt la communication l’évolution.
Passionate, open, go-getter, emotional, pragmatic, functional, organized, disorganized... Diane-Hélène Lalande is an Artist! What kind of artist? She sings, paints, sculpts, plays music... For her, 1990 marked the birth of her professional artistic life, with the beginning of a series of painting exhibitions in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritime provinces. But there's more, so much more! To grasp the character, we have to go back in time: a foray into the lives of a little girl, a teenager, a young adult, and an accomplished woman.
Diane-Hélène has experimented with a variety of mixed media and materials, most of which she has learned to master on her own: dry pastel, oil pastel, drypoint, acrylic, ink, plexiglass molding, paper cut and spinning. 
For the artist, the message conveyed by her works is of paramount importance. The object must speak, exchange, it must be unique, exclusive. She doesn't want to machine anything, she looks for the exception, the individuality, the singularity, the specificity. Rather, the artist seeks communication and evolution.
